ContentPilot ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of merchants who use our Shopify application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you install ContentPilot, we access and store the following data from your Shopify store:

• Product data: Product titles, descriptions, handles, vendor, product type, tags, status, images, and SEO metadata (meta title and meta description)
• Collection data: Collection titles, descriptions, handles, and images
• Store information: Your Shopify store domain (myshopify.com URL)
• Session data: OAuth tokens required for API access

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Customer personal information (names, emails, addresses)
• Payment or credit card information
• Customer browsing behavior
• Order or transaction data
• Marketing or analytics data

3. How We Use Your Data

• Generate AI-powered product descriptions, SEO titles, and SEO descriptions
• Analyze content quality and provide SEO scoring
• Facilitate bulk content generation across multiple products
• Display content analytics and dashboards within the app

4. Third-Party Services

We use Anthropic's Claude AI to generate content. When generating content, we send product data (title, description, type, tags) to Anthropic's API. Anthropic does not use this data for training. No customer data is ever sent to third parties.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in encrypted databases. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Access to your data is limited to authenticated sessions through Shopify's OAuth system.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4. Your data is used exclusively to provide ContentPilot's services to you.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as ContentPilot is installed on your store. Upon uninstallation, your data is scheduled for deletion within 48 hours in accordance with Shopify's data protection requirements.

8. GDPR Compliance

We comply with GDPR requirements by:

• Responding to customer data requests (customers/data_request)
• Processing customer data erasure requests (customers/redact)
• Deleting all shop data upon shop redact requests (shop/redact)

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we store about your store
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (by uninstalling the app)
• Export your data

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
